Uma Thurman is coming clean about her relationship with Quentin Tarantino

In an interview with Vs. Magazine, excerpted by the Daily Mailthe 44-year-old actress stated that her relationship with the director is "pretty much what it's always been." The two reportedly began dating in May, after the "Kill Bill" actress split from fiancé Arpad Busson.

In May, the rumored couple attended the Cannes International Film Festival closing ceremony together, and a month later they were photographed kissing.

The pair has kept quiet about their rumored relationship. A source told Us Weekly that Thurman and Tarantino have been friends for years and have recently decided to take their relationship to the next level.

"I was discussing [the rumors] with Mr. Tarantino last night," she shared. "He was angry at me for not calling him back, because as he said, 'According to the papers we are practically married!' and he laughed hysterically. So our relationship is pretty much what it's always been; people are just having fun with it."

The actress admitted she understands that dating rumors come with the territory of being an actress, saying, "I think media is part of the career of an actor. There is no career for an actor who is in some way not in the media, unless they are unsuccessful."

Uma also spoke about her break from acting and other work commitments, following the birth of her daughter, now-2-year-old Luna Thurman-Busson.

"I've kind of been on a hiatus for a while, and I just started getting back to work right now," she shared. "I had a baby, and I also wanted to take a step back, and so I did. I think it's important to have this time to take a step back, analyze things and just breathe."
