HTC is expanding its affordable smartphone range with an all-new Desire 510 to offer support to the industry's fastest LTE connectivity.

The renowned tech company is expanding its Desire smartphone lineup with the latest Desire 510, its most affordable smartphone with 4G LTE support. The new handset will appeal to budget-minded customers who can give up most high-end specs but rely on high-speed browsing through phones. The industry's fastest 4G LTE is usually found on high-end smartphones, but HTC wants to bring the standard to an affordable price point.

The Taiwanese tech giant claims its new Desire phone is the most affordable LTE capable smartphone in the entire HTC smartphone gallery. In addition to the LTE-support, the Desire 510 sports mid-range specs to keep the cost of the phone down. Powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and Adreno 360 GPU for graphics, the new Desire phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat and 1GB RAM.

"Owning the latest and greatest technology shouldn't be reserved for those with the highest budgets," Peter Chou, CEO of HTC, said in an official blog post, Tuesday. "People today should expect their smartphones to double as mobile entertainment hubs. This means ensuring that they're fully loaded with the latest movies, TV shows and albums, by taking advantage of the super-fast network speeds available. The HTC Desire 510 does this and more, making it the perfect mobile media device."

The Desire 510, successor to last year's budget Desire 500 smartphone, features a 4.7-inch display with 480x854 pixel resolution. It packs 8GB of internal space that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card and a 2100mAh battey. It also sports a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 MP VGA front facing camera. The phone lacks a LED flash to take pictures in dark light. HTC's flagship Sense UI with BlinkFeed, Zoe and other features will keep the Desire 510 fully loaded.

HTC also revealed that the Desire 510 smartphone can be customized with the company's Dot View case. Details on the availability and the pricing of the smartphone were not shared by HTC, but the tech giant said it will be available on leading mobile carrier networks in Europe, Asia and the US. Buyers can choose from Terra White and Meridian Grey for color options.
