Ride-sharing service Uber is now making an addition to its services by bringing its customers lunch.

The delivery service, called UberFRESH, is not the first time the company has experimented with providing other items. Uber has delivered ice cream and toilet paper in the past, according to PC Magazine.

"We've all been there- that moment when you go from hungry to hangry during the lunch rush," Uber wrote in a blog post Tuesday. "At Uber, we take these problems seriously and wanted to explore another way to get lunch without the line."

Residents of Santa Monica, California will be the first to try out UberFRESH, which will be available during weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., The Next Web reported.

Customers can place an order by selecting the UberFRESH option from the regular Uber app and setting the delivery location to anywhere in the Santa Monica coverage area.

A prix fixe menu is offered with a different selection each day, and customers pay $12 for each meal, according to PC Magazine. Uber also said customers won't have to pay a delivery fee or give a tip, and that they also won't have to wait long for their lunches.

"Typical food delivery takes 45 minutes to 1 hour," the team wrote. "UberFRESH delivers you healthy, fresh food in about 10 minutes."

UberFRESH is being run from Aug. 26 to Sept. 5, and the company plans to expand the service to other areas if it proves to be successful, The Next Web reported.

However, Uber will not be providing the service on weekends or Labor Day.

UberFRESH's launch follows one week after the start up of Uber's Corner Store, which customers can use to order a variety of items, such as razors, toilet paper, and body wash.
