T-Mobile has launched a new marketing scheme offering free LTE data for one year to attract customers from Sprint and other rivals.

A Sprint and T-Mobile merger may officially be dead but the carrier war continues in the United States. The most disruptive carrier, T-Mobile launched a new marketing scheme, one of its best ones, to "rescue" customers from Sprint, AT&T and Verizon. T-Mobile announced Thursday that any Simple Choice customer who convinces a subscriber of Sprint or any other wireless carrier to sign up for Un-carrier will get free unlimited LTE data for one year as a reward. The new customer will also be welcomed with a similar one year free LTE data offer on T-Mobile's network.

The latest T-Mobile scheme will further disrupt the traditional competition practices in the US wireless industry. The carrier has been successful in its aggressive attempts so far, with millions of new customers signing up on the fastest growing network. T-Mobile announced the new campaign as a challenge to Sprint's latest Family Share Pack.

Sprint launched its new "best deals" offer this week to offer 20GB of data to be shared across 10 lines for $100. The plan excludes the 2GB data, which is offered to each line separately. But T-Mobile is doing its best to steal the thunder from Sprint with its free data offering.

"It continues to amaze me to see the old carriers failing to listen to their customers-or reward them for their loyalty," John Legere, flamboyant president and CEO of T-Mobile, said in a press statement. "That arrogance and indifference has defined the U.S. wireless industry for too long. We're changing all that. In fact, this entire Un-carrier consumer movement is built on the simple act of listening to customers."

T-Mobile's new scheme starts next Friday, August 29. The free one year data will be given to the new customer and the referee once the transition is successful. Existing Simple Choice customers must fill the referral form to avail the offer.

If the existing customers are already signed up for T-Mo's unlimited LTE data, the carrier offers a $10 credit each month for the following twelve months after a new sign-up.
