Oakland snapped their five-game skid with a with a 6-2 victory Tuesday night against New York.  Outfielder Coco Crisp drove in three runs with a fourth-inning triple, and outfielder Josh Reddick sealed the win with a two-run homer.

"I haven't been hitting well at all so I'm trying to figure out some things to try to be successful with whatever I'm dealing with," Crisp told the Associated Press.  "These past couple of days, whatever I've been trying to do, it seems like it could work so I'm trying to stick with that and see what happens."

Athletics manager Bob Melvin wasn't surprised Crisp turned in a solid offensive performance after struggling at-bat recently.

"It's very rare that he goes through a stretch like that," Melvin said of Crisp's 2-for-23 hitting over their last seven games.  "It's not like he was striking out all the time (or) taking off-balance swings.  A hit like that, especially with the runners in scoring position in a tight game, can do wonders for the personality."

Athletics starting pitcher Scott Kazmir also played a big role in the game, earning his 14th win of the season after fanning six batters and giving up only one run.

Jeff Samardzija (5-9, 2.96 ERA) is tasked with following Kazmir's performance.  The right-hander looks to avoid losing two straight after his loss at Kansas City, who scored three earned runs on him.

He'll be opposed by Mets pitcher Zack Wheeler (8-8, 3.49), who earned a win Friday against the Chicago Cubs.
