Maybe actor Jim Parrack has been spending too much time on the set of HBO's "True Blood."

The 33-year-old actor, who plays human Hoyt Fortenberry on the HBO series since the first season, admitted to Vulture that he enjoys drinking a bit of human blood in real life, even comparing his strange habit to drinking alcohol.

"I was being literal," said Parrack. "I like the real deal. I guess for the same reason some people want alcohol? Or for the same reason some people want, I don't know...milk? Or Kool-Aid?"

The actor was referring to a previous statement he made about drinking blood during the opening night of Broadway's "Of Mice and Men." He only indulges in the habit "a couple times a year," but said it has an emotional effect on him that he was unable to describe, adding that "it's kind of like you're in the moment, and the impulse comes, and ... I like it."

"When you make me spell it out like this, it sounds strange, but I just want to be clear - that night, I was being literal. There was something about that night where I had that impulse. I guess the best way to put it is, sometimes I just like the way it tastes," Parrack added.

The actor does have some rules to his blood-sucking habit. He told Vulture that he prefers the blood of his fiancée, "Hunger Games" actress Leven Rambin, over any other source.

Parrack proposed to Rambin with a Monique Pean Mineraux engagement ring on Aug. 6 at Mt. Bonnell in Austin, Texas. Parrack and his former wife, Ciera Danielle, separated in September and filed for divorce in June, citing irreconcilable differences after six years of marriage, People Magazine reported
