Xiaomi has performed exceptionally well for the fifth time in a row by selling 20,000 units of Mi3 smartphones to Indian customers through Flipkart in just 2.3 seconds.

Xiaomi, the renowned Chinese smartphone maker, is growing to be a major threat to giants like Samsung and Apple. The phone maker is getting a huge response in the Indian market. After four successful flash sales of Mi3 smartphones through Flipkart, Xiaomi's flagship in India went out of stock in just 2.3 seconds. The fifth round of sale was opened on Tuesday, 2 p.m. with 20,000 units.

After the latest round of sale, Xiaomi has successfully sold almost 95,000 units of Mi3 smartphone in India through online retail channel, Flipkart. The handset is exclusively available through Flipkart, similar to Motorola's budget smartphone Moto G. Xiaomi opened sale of Mi3 with 20,000 units on July 22, all of which were sold out in less than half an hour. But as demand grew, the three consecutive sales got over in mere seconds. Xiaomi confirmed via Facebook that the stocks were emptied during the fifth batch in just 2.3 seconds, which is the fastest after its third-day sale of two seconds. But in terms of quantity, the fifth batch witnessed the fastest sale as the third sale on August 6 had 15,000 units.

Xiaomi is following a stringent process of registration from customers before they can buy the phone through its flash sale. If the customers miss the chance to buy, they must re-register and wait for the weekly sale. The company opened registrations for the August 19 sale a week before and will follow a similar process for the next sale on August 26. All interested buyers must register mandatorily before going ahead with the sale.

Xiaomi is yet to reveal if it plans on increasing the number of units it brings on board next Tuesday or if it will stick to 20,000 units.

Xiaomi has managed to create an impressive demand for its budget smartphone packed with high-end features. The Mi3 sports a powerful 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 and 2GB RAM. It features a 5-inch full HD display with 440ppi protected by Gorilla Glass 3 shield and aluminum-magnesium alloy frame. Customers who got lucky with the sale seem content with their choice.

Owing to the overwhelming demand for Mi3 in India, VP for Xiaomi Hugo Barra promised better services from their end, Business Insider reports. Xiaomi has even released a Chrome browser extension to improve the chances of getting the phone when the flash sale begins.

After registering to buy the phone, install the extension and sign in five minutes before the sale goes live. This will simplify the process of buying the Mi3 from Flipkart, which otherwise is fairly impossible to get through.
