Toxic Games announced that the PlayStation 4's Project Morpheus Virtual Reality device will get support from Q.U.B.E. 2, the sequel to the popular first-person puzzle game Q.U.B.E.

Toxic Managing Director Dan Da Rocha said the team is now starting to work on the sequel, as it is finishing up work on a director's cut of its predecessor, which will be available at the end of this year on both the PS3 and PS4, according to GameSpot.

Unreal Engine 4 will be responsible for developing Q.U.B.E. 2.

The game developer added that a "tightly woven narrative" will be added to the game in order to make the Q.U.B.E. universe larger, VG247 reported.

"We've already taken the hardware for a spin, and it's shaping up to be something fantastic, so we can't wait to get our hands (or gloves?) on a kit to begin developing for it!," Rocha wrote in a post on the PlayStation Blog.

In Q.U.B.E., players' characters are given a special glove that grants them the ability to manipulate colored cubes in environments with different physical properties, GameSpot reported.

The release date and platforms for Q.U.B.E. 2 have not yet been revealed. The original game is currently available on PC and Mac, and later this year, fans will be able to play it on the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Wii U and iOS.
