Microsoft has rolled out a series of new updates for  Xbox One consoles complete with revamped activity feed, mobile purchases and more.

Microsoft, the world's largest software company, has rolled out new features for its next gen gaming console Xbox One in August, as promised. The Redmond-based software giant started pushing the update on Sunday to all Xbox One consoles.

Owners of Xbox One will receive the update over the next few days, Xbox Live's Major Nelson aka Larry Hryb posted on his official blog.

Major Nelson also listed the new features and demonstrated a few in a short YouTube video. With the new update, users will witness a major overhaul in the news feed area. The activity feed is now changed to a single column with more content. Users can post text to feed, like, comment and share items. Notification alerts are set to notify users if someone likes, comments or shares your items.

Accessing friend's list will also show how long it has been since a friend came online.

Microsoft also incorporated two most in-demand features, mobile purchases and low battery notification, which will be added to Xbox One through the update. Low battery notification will alert gamers to charge their controller before it drains out and mobile purchases allow users to remotely buy games and add-on content using Xbox SmartGlass or Xbox.com.

"No more waiting to begin downloading when you get home - if your console is set to automatically take updates, your console will begin downloading your purchase," Major Nelson wrote.

The update also includes new features like the ability to disable notifications while playing a video and adds 3D Blu-ray support.
