LeBron just returned back home to Cleveland during free agency in July. Speculation is mounting that Kevin Durant may head to his hometown of Washington D.C. to join the Wizards during the summer of 2016. Will Steph Curry head to the Charlotte Hornets when his contract is up in three years?

Curry made headlines yesterday when he appeared on 'The Dan Patrick Show' on Tuesday and said he was a better all-around offense player than LeBron James. Curry also appeared on 'The Doug Gottlieb Show' last week and was asked about whether or not he was considering returning home to Charlotte at some point in his career to play with the Hornets.

"I've always had thoughts about playing at home, what it would be like," said Curry, via this InsideBayArea news article. "My dad played there for 10 years, and people around the Greater Charlotte area in North Carolina have done a lot for my family growing up, so you always think about it."

Curry was born in Akron, Ohio, but grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina while his dad spent ten NBA seasons with the Hornets. Curry also attended Charlotte Christian School during his high school years and went on to play Division I basketball at Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina. He averaged 20.2 points per game in his final year at Davidson and led the #10 seed Wildcats to the Elite 8 in the 2008 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament.

Whether he wants to return home or not, the All-Star point guard will have to wait at least three years until his current contract expires with the Golden State Warriors. He's got it pretty good in California with a talented team that made the postseason each of the past two years, only to fall to the Los Angeles Clippers in seven games in 2014 and the San Antonio Spurs in six games in 2013. Curry and shooting guard Klay Thompson arguably compose the best backcourt in the NBA, so the 26-year-old is probably comfortable with his situation right now.

"Right now I feel like I've got three years left on my deal, so this isn't going to be an issue for me for a while," Curry added in the InsideBayArea article. "I love the Bay Area and where we are as a team trying to win a championship, and that's what it's all about. Of course everybody dreams about or thinks about what it's going to be like to play at home. Obviously if that opportunity comes along it's a different discussion."

In reality, Curry has three years to make a decision, but now he'll likely be asked about it incessantly until that day comes. You can read more about Curry and his appearance on 'The Doug Gottlieb Show' in this ESPN NBA Rumors article.
