An internal investigation has been launched on two Los Angeles police officers who took pictures with singer Ray J after he was pulled over for allegedly texting while driving.

The 33-year-old singer artist told TMZ that officers stopped his car last Wednesday, suspecting that the singer was texting while driving. The officers were also suspicious about Ray J's car, which did not have a license plate, but only a custom "RJ" frame.

The "One Wish" singer reportedly told the cop that he was not texting, just trying to connect his Bluetooth headset. Ray J was released with a warning, but then asked to step out of his car to take a selfie with the officers.

The snaps have been published on the gossip site. The Los Angeles Police Department has reportedly launched an internal investigation, because according to law enforcement sources, it is illegal for an officer to take pictures with a suspect during a traffic stop.

Last month, Ray J, who is infamous for starring in the sex tape with Kim Kardashian to stardom, was slapped with 10 criminal charges after getting arrested in May for causing a disturbance at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.

He was reportedly seen being loud, rowdy and aggressive at the hotel bar. He was also accused of brushing up against a woman's backside, which police later determined as "accidental." When asked to leave the hotel, Ray J reportedly went into a drunken rampage and was later arrested.

The singer was charged with a count of sexual battery, four counts of resisting arrest, three counts of assault and battery and two counts of vandalism - however all the charges were misdemeanors.
