New leaked images of the iPhone 6 show the 4.7-inch model with a revamped Touch ID, trimmed-down bezels and more.

Apple is reportedly putting some final touches to its iPhone 6 smartphone, which is expected to be launched next month. Apple has remained tight-lipped about its new launch, but speculations and leaks continue to mount. The latest in the rumor pit is a set of leaked photos by Apple Club TW that gives a closer look at the 4.7-inch display of the iPhone 6.

These images show just one of the two iPhone 6 models expected to be launched this year. The smaller 4.7-inch model has reportedly got an early release date while the larger 5.5-inch model has been delayed  due to manufacturing issues. The images coincide with the current rumors; the model shows trimmed-down side bezels to accommodate the larger LCD screen.

The iPhone 6 in the leaked images has a larger home button, suggesting a revamped Touch ID sensor. In addition to the ear speaker and sensor, a mysterious third hole is shown on the front display panel, according to Slash Gear.  Its purpose remains a mystery.

Following the traditional manufacturing protocol, a few cables are sticking out from the top for display assembly.

At the rear there are Apple logos and QR code stickers on the flex cables and on the top. As observed by Apple Insider, the electromagnetic shield that usually sits on the rear of the screen is missing. This, according to the Apple focused website, could point towards a new design or a way to embed new features like NFC.

The images show Apple's standard color option for the displays, black and white, as seen in previous iPhone models. Bright color options as in the iPhone 5C do not appear to be on the books.

Apple is planning to host a special media event on September 9, which is expected to be the launch date for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model. The 5.5-inch model is likely to debut later this year or early next year, alongside the rumored iWatch.
