Brooke Shields is collaborating with cosmetic giant MAC to launch a new makeup collection, according to media reports.
Brooke Shields has joined hands with cosmetic giant MAC to launch a new makeup collection that is expected to hit the shelves in the United States sometime in October this year. During a recent interview with WWD, the actress referred to the collaboration as "serendipitous."
"There's this little place I go to get coffee after I drop my kids [daughters Rowan, 11, and Grier, 8] off for school and after a yoga or spin class, where I think no one will see me without makeup," she said. "Of course, who do I run into but James [Gager, MAC's senior vice president and creative director], Mr. MAC? After we talked a few times, he approached me about the next Icon line and asked if I would consider designing it with them."
"I'm a perpetual student - I treat everything like homework," she continued. "The minute [James] planted the seed, I went to work on my [inspiration] book. I was smearing lipsticks and making smudges of products, tearing out ideas. I brought it to the first meeting, and the surprising thing is that they cared."
Shields' collection will feature nude-to-bold colored eye-shadows, gloss and much more! This range joins MAC's other special offerings, which have been very popular among makeup lovers. Shield's "Icon" collection is the largest to date, with prices ranging from $17 to $85. The centerpiece is a 16-shade eye-shadow palette, with colors starting at a golden peach beige all the way through to a matte black shade.
MAC confirmed the collaboration with Shields through a post on their Instagram page.
"The iconic beauty @brookeshields with M•A•C for a colour collection inspired by her Gemini duality! In stores October 2014. #MACBrookeShields," read the announcement on MAC Cosmetics' Instagram page.
The beauty brand has collaborated with fashion favorite DJ, Mia Moretti, announcing an assortment in July. With that line, beauty lovers can expect a variety of makeup products that are perfect for any summer festival.
