This might soften the public's opinion of Justin Bieber.

The pop singer's newest friend, Malala Yousafzai, is the Pakistani schoolgirl who survived a near-fatal Taliban attack and is now an advocate for girls' rights, CNN reported.

While Yousafzai has met with other celebrities like President Barack Obama and Queen Elizabeth in the past, her FaceTime call with Bieber on Wednesday will surely be envied by teen girls around the world.

The "As Long As You Love Me" star posted a screen shot on Twitter of his conversation with the 17-year-old activist, saying: "Just got to FaceTime with Malala Yousafzai. She has such an incredible story. I can't wait to meet her..."

Taliban members targeted Yousafzai in 2012 for assassination after she publicly stated her support for girls' education in her native country, CNN reported.

Yousafzai, who hasn't posted any tweets about her conversation with Bieber, did tell CNN's Christiane Amanpour last year that she was a Bieber fan, or as some would call it, a "Belieber."

Bieber's representative told CNN she had "no official comment" about the two's conversation, including if there are plans with them to meet in person.

Although Bieber has a reputation as an out-of-control celebrity and has already been arrested three times this year alone, the 20-year-old singer does have an impressive track record of good deeds, according to CNN.

Bieber has helped grant the wishes of more than 200 children through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which fulfills the dreams of children fighting life-threatening medical conditions.

The pop idol took Grace Kesablak, one recent recipient, as his date to the Young Hollywood Awards in Los Angeles this month, where he was given the "Champ of Charity Award."

Bieber is currently on supervised probation for egging his neighbor's mansion in January, according to CNN. He also has a pending drunk driving charge in Miami and an assault charge in Toronto.
