Sophia Bush is back on the market.

People Magazine reported the 32-year-old "One Tree Hill" alum and her Google engineer boyfriend Dan Fredinburg ended their relationship earlier this year. A source said the couple's busy schedules contributed to the split.

"They decided to end their relationship in February," a source told People. "When you see one another for 24 hours every four weeks, it's impossible to maintain a romantic relationship. They weren't able to spend the time together that was necessary to nurture that kind of relationship."

The insider added that despite their separation, Bush and Fredinburg are "still really good friends" and "they both care about one another and it was completely amicable."

In April, Bush took to Twitter to confirm that Fredinburg and his team were in fine health, following an avalanche on Mt. Everest that killed 16 people. At the time she tweeted, "For all concerned, @danfredinburg & team are safe at Camp 1 on #Everest after the avalanche. Please keep the Sherpas in your prayers."

An insider reported Bush found Fredinburg "super intelligent" and mentioned that she wanted to marry him. The former couple has kept a low-profile relationship, only stepping out publicly a handful of times.

The "Chicago P.D." star began dating Fredinburg in 2013 - just one year after she ended her on-and-off again relationship with her "One Tree Hill" co-star Austin Nichols. The actress was also married to co-star Chad Michael Murray
