When a mistrial was declared in the sentencing phase of the Jodi Arias trial it prolonged the already five-month long trial. A new jury is expected to be convened in July to decide if Jodi Arias will be given the death penalty and finally bring the trial to a close. Apparently Lifetime just couldn't wait that long as the network announced that the film version of Arias' story will air on June 22, according to Deadline.

It remains to be seen how Lifetime will deal with the small problem of not having a definitive ending to the story.

The film, "Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret," will star Tania Raymonde as the title character. Raymonde was most recently in "Texas Chainsaw 3D;" a movie in which Raymonde was attempting to flee from a murderer instead of playing one.

Playing the role of Travis Alexander is Jesse Lee Soffer. Soffer is best known for his stint playing 'Nate Devlin' on the Fox drama "The Mob Doctor." Other notable actors involved in the project are David Zayas ("Dexter," "Oz") and Tony Plana ("Ugly Betty"), according to IMDB.com.

In a press release Lifetime referred to the murder trial as "grand theater" that "dominated the cable news networks as she testified in her own defense and offered explicit insight into the sex, lies and obsession that led to Alexander's murder," according to Fox News.

Lifetime has made a habit out of pulling stories directly from the courtroom in recent years. The production team behind the Arias film is the same one that produced some of the most noteworthy Lifetime dramas; "Prosecuting Casey Anthony," "Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy," "Drew Peterson: Untouchable," and "The Craigslist Killer," according to enstarz.com.

Lifetime plans to air a one hour documentary entitled "Jodi Arias: Behind the Deadline" immediately following the 2 hour movie.
