Victoria Beckham is fighting HIV with fashion.

The former Spice Girls member has decided to sell more than 600 of her own dresses and accessories in order to raise money for Mothers2Mothers, a charity that helps mothers living with HIV in Africa, according to Us Weekly.

According to the organization's official website, Mothers2Mothers is a charity that aims "to impact the health of mothers by putting them at the heart of improving reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health and eliminate pediatric AIDS and create health and hope for themselves [women] and their babies, families, and communities."

Beckham, who has become a fashion icon with her glamorous and couture style, has teamed up with discount luxury fashion site, The Outnet, to help sell the pieces from her wardrobe. The auction will run on the said website from Aug. 20 through 25.

"Every single piece that I have put in to be sold brought back a lot of memories," Beckham said, according to ABC News. "A lot of really, really happy memories of myself and David [Beckham], of myself and the children, of different events I've been to. And a lot of these pieces have been made especially for me by the designers. These haven't all been bought off of the shelf."

The 40-year-old mother of four continued: "People have asked, aren't I keeping all of these pieces for Harper? I'm keeping a few pieces, but for me, it was more important to raise money for this charity. As a woman, we have a responsibility to really help and support other women."

Beckham said she became inspired after she was invited by Vogue's Anna Wintour and designer Stella McCartney to visit South Africa and talk to the women who were living with the sickness.

She posted a picture on twitter of herself and advocates from the Mothers2Mothers charity and captioned it, "Proceeds from my #VBxTHEOUTNET sale will support @M2MTweets in their mission to end mother-to-child HIV transmission."

The outfits being sold range from her Posh Spice wardrobe from her time with the Spice Girls, to dresses and attires worn to red carpet events and fashion runway shows - including a fluorescent yellow Roberto Cavalli gown she wore at the pre-World Cup party in 2006 and a white Dolce & Gabbana dress she wore to the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.

In addition, Beckham will auction off a set of 10 exclusive pieces.

"We are honored and extremely grateful to Victoria Beckham and The Outnet for their very generous support of Mothers2Mothers," Dr. Mitch Besser, founder of Mothers2Mothers, said. "The funds that are raised will help Mothers2Mothers' Mentor Mothers reach even more HIV-positive mothers with critical health education and support, to stay healthy and protect their babies from HIV infection."
