“Captain America” actor Chris Evans might already have a replacement after his contract expires.

Comic Book reports actor Anthony Mackie, who played The Falcon in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” could be continuing the franchise once Evans wraps “Avengers 3.”

“I don’t know. I mean I’m excited about it,” Mackie said, referring to possibly taking on the red, white and blue shield. “I think if it goes that way in the movies that it would take a long time, because there’s so many evolutions before that. You know, I’m excited to see Sebastian play Cap. I think Sebastian’s a great actor. But I love seeing Chris Evans as Cap, so I feel like they can go any way they want. I’m enjoying my part beside Cap. I’m in no rush to be Cap.”

Marvel recently announced The Falcon would be replacing Steve Rogers as Captain America in the graphic novels. The Falcon, also know as Sam Wilson, was the first African-American superhero in Marvel’s history. He was created by Stan Lee and Gene Colan.

“Captain America 3” is slated to hit theaters along side “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” on May 6, 2016. Marvel had always planned to open “Captain America 3” on the date, but Warner Bros. recently pushed back the “Batman vs. Superman” production to release on the same day.

However, Marvel President Kevin Feige explained to Empire magazine the production isn’t moving their “Captain America 3” release date, even if that means going head-to-head with a highly anticipated DC film..

“We are doing what we’ve always done, which is sticking to our plan and sticking to our vision for the movies going forward and we have a very large vision that we’re working on for Cap 3 and for all the threes movies and just because another movie plops down onto one of ours doesn’t mean we are going to alter that. Maybe we should, but we’re not going to,” Feige said.
