"The Hunger Games" is adding Lorde to its hit franchise. On Thursday, Lionsgate announced via Twitter that the 17-year-old singer will have the lead single from the upcoming "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" soundtrack.

She will also curate the film's soundtrack and pick which artists to include, Radio.com reports.

"Curating the soundtrack for such a hotly-anticipated film was a challenge, but I jumped at the chance," Lorde said in a press release, via the Huffington Post. "The cast and story are an inspiration for all musicians participating and, as someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience. I think the soundtrack is definitely going to surprise people."

Lorde first teased that she had a big reveal for her fans on Wednesday, tweeting "Something exciting is about to happen." This is not the first time Lorde has been attached to the "Hunger Games" franchise. She previously covered Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" for the "Catching Fire" soundtrack. Lorde's rendition of the song was well received.

Last year, Coldplay's "Atlas" was the lead single for the "Catching Fire" soundtrack and Taylor Swift and Civil War led the first film. "Mockingjay Part 1" is the third film in the franchise and is expected to be released Nov. 21. The accompanying soundtrack will also be released in the fall.

Recently fans got a glimpse of the movie with a new trailer, titled "Our Leader the Mocking Jay." In the minute-long clip Phillip Seymour Hoffman narrates and talks about how Katniss needs to be the face of the rebellion. It ends with Katniss in District 13 ready to go to war.
