A Polish priest says he is being plagued by angry text messages from a demon that has possessed a teenager, according to the Austrian Times.

Father Marian Rajchel, from the south-eastern town of Jaroslaw, claims the hate texts began after he performed an exorcism on a teenage girl. Apparently the parish priest's efforts failed because the demon is using technology to taunt Rajchel.

"The author of these texts is an evil spirit who has possessed her soul," the priest said according to the Austrian Times.

It is not clear who the girl is or when the exorcism was performed. Rajchel said the demon told him the girl will never be freed.

"She will not come out of this hell. She's mine," reads one of the alleged texts. "Anyone who prays for her will die."

The priest said he replied to the text and that he prayed for the victim. But that only seemed to anger the spirit.

"Shut up, preacher. You cannot save yourself. Idiot. You pathetic old preacher," reads another angry text, according to Rajchel.

It's not unusual for the devil and his associates to use modern communication devices of those they possess, the priest said.

"Often the owners of mobile phones are not even aware that they are [being] used like this, however in this case it is clear," Rajchel said, the newspaper reported. "Clearly this young girl has been possessed, and needs further help," he added.

Religious officials have also used technology to ward off malevolent beings. Arizona-based Pastor Bob Larson made headlines in January by performing exorcisms over Skype, including one for a man in Norway who was possessed by four demons.

Larson claims he has performed over 20,000 exorcisms to date, many of them via Skype.
