Sophie Turner discussed Sansa Stark’s new story lines during San Diego Comic-Con International 2014.

During an interview with The Wrap, a blonde Turner discussed getting back to filming this summer and the major changes to Sansa. She’s transitioning from a naïve little girl to a smart young woman.

“Well now she’s kind of in the position where Baelish isn’t overly sure what Sansa’s about, he doesn’t really know why she stuck up for him,” Sophie said. “But he’s kind of realizing that she’s a great manipulator, and she’s not this vulnerable young girl anymore.

“And she’s also realized that she can manipulate him though other means, because now she realizes his weakness is kind of her, and her mother. She’s gonna try to play out her sexuality as much as she can to manipulate him. So that’s what she’s gonna do.”

Turner added she felt a sense of relief being able to expose Sansa for who she is and the show is moving away from the novels.

During the Comic Con panel, author George R.R. Martin reiterated Turner’s point about the comparison of the show to his work.

"The show is the show and the books are the books," Martin stated during the Comic-Con panel. "I encourage people to watch the show and also, for people to read the books. Reading books is good."

"How many children does Scarlett O'Hara have?" Martin added, stating the character had three in the novels but one in the film. "What's the true story? The answer is she has none. She never existed and is not a real person. That is the situation -- the show is the show and the book is book."
