Actress Jaime King is opening up about her personal struggles with having a child.

After welcoming her first son James Knight last October, the 35-year-old "Hart of Dixie" actress took to Instagram on Friday to explain her painful journey trying to conceive a child.

King, who is married to Kyle Newman, revealed that she spent eight years trying to get pregnant and suffered through five miscarriages before giving birth to her baby boy. The "Sin City" actress also shared details of her painful pregnancy and childbirth, and expressed her solidarity with other women struggling with fertility issues.

"For all the struggling women & moms out there that think they are alone - This is the truth about conceiving my son and struggles after 8 yrs of pain and undiagnosed PSOC [Polycystic ovary syndrome] & Endometriosis," she posted on Instagram on Friday. "9 doctors until Dr. Randy Harris diagnosed me & saved my life from a severe ectopic, 5 miscarriages, 5 rounds of IVF [In vitro fertilization], 26 IUIs [Intrauterine insemination], most with no outcome, 4 1/2 years of trying to conceive."

She continued, "26 hours of brutal labor, early delivery b/c of sudden preeclampsia, tearing and tearing after the stitches were in once I was home, milk supply issues, painful mastitis, uncontrollable crying while breast feeding, worked until the day before I [gave] birth and went back after 6 weeks after because I was afraid of letting others down."

King captioned the post, writing, "For all the women out there who think they are alone in this #youarenotalone #ihavetobebravetosupportothers #realtalkhatterrifiesus."

The post has since been removed.

In May, King talked to ABC News about her son and why she felt compelled to share her story - revealing that it was her way to help support other women who were in the same situation.

"This baby was a long time in the making and I feel like the universe put a little extra magic dust in him," she said in an interview. "He's like the happiest, most joyful, social and loving [baby].... There's definitely an identity crisis you go through, but it took a long time to get pregnant, for me the baby was such a blessing that the most important thing for me was that I was active."

King and her husband welcomed their first child together on October 6, 2013.
