"Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams might take on the role of Ellie in the Naughty Dog's film adaptation of "The Last of Us."

The PlayStation title follows the story of Ellie and Joel, two survivors of the zombie apocalypse. The deadly fungal infection continues to spread, creating flesh-eating zombies, terrifying "clicks" and more nasty creatures. Joel meets Ellie after he accepts a job transporting "cargo" to the rebel group called the Fireflies.

Much to Joel's surprise, his cargo isn't food or weapons, but a young girl who may be the keep to a vaccine in order to stop the fungus from spreading or mutating into something worse.

Cinema Blend reports "The Last of Us" movie producer Sam Raimi and game writer Neil Druckmann revealed the news during a San Diego Comic Con 2014 panel. Raimi claims the production is in talks with the "Game of Thrones" actress to take on a role in the film.

Raimi didn't confirm Williams would play Ellie, but she's the right age to play the spunky teenage who knows how to hand a gun and a few zombies. Naughty Dog announced the film adaptation back in March.

"Our partnership with Sam Raimi, Ghost House Pictures, and Screen Gems to develop a film based on The Last of Us universe is a perfect fit," Evan Wells, Naughty Dog's Co-President, said in a statement. "Since our game released last June, we've talked with many companies about making a film, but we couldn't have found better partners who share our creative vision and high standards. We look forward to collaborating with Sam, his team, and Screen Gems, to make a movie that will thrill fans of The Last of Us and general audiences worldwide."
