Google is bringing integrated ads to Google Maps on web and mobile to offer better search results for the places users are looking for.

Google, the world's largest internet search provider, is monetizing its online mapping service with integrated advertisements. The integration benefits both advertisers and end-users. The ads will appear directly in search results on both desktop and mobile versions of Google Maps. The list view of local ads will show information based on users' search for places like restaurants, hotels, gyms and more.

Google announced the extension of its ads on Google Maps via official Google+ account of Google Ads. The move is seen as a faster and simpler way to connect with the most relevant businesses online. Google previously showed ads overlaid on the map while users performed a search but have tweaked the ad markers on the map with a new look and added detailed information. The ad extension will continue to display detailed information about the place such as ratings, operation hours and Street View imagery.

Google also advised businesses to improve their ads by using call extensions or location extensions to allow customers to easily connect directly from the ads.

"The new view will continue to show information from ad extensions for eligible ads. If you include a phone number for your ads using call extensions or locations extensions, your customers can see the option to call you directly from your ad...," Google said in its Google+ post, Wednesday. "They also offer the unique benefit of enabling your business locations to be highlighted directly on the map with an ad marker that can be expanded to see more information about your business."

Google is constantly improving its services including Google Maps. Last week, the web giant added elevation statistics and voice controls for Google Maps for Android. The addition is a boon to bicyclists to easily avoid unnecessary uphill climbs by looking at the elevation data. The update also helped car drivers to easily get the information on the traffic, estimated travel time, next-turn reminders and more by just speaking into the smartphone's microphone.
