Motorola's customizable 2013 flagship, Moto X, is getting a major discount of up to $125 with a new promo code for different variants.

Motorola, renowned smartphone maker, is continuing to offer steep discounts on its 2013 flagship Moto X smartphone. The new discount comes as a limited period offer valid till Wednesday, which offers the unlocked GSM version of the Moto X smartphone without any contract for as low as $299.99. The bargain is greater on the models with higher storage, 32GB and 64GB, where consumers can save as much as $125, according to Android Headlines.

The offer is available via SlickDeals, and requires a coupon code to get the discount. Based on the offer, the Moto X 16GB model will be $100 cheaper than the price offered at Motorola's official site, at $299.99. If the buyer increases the on-device storage, the discount gets better. The $449.99 price tag for the 32GB Moto X will be dropped to $324.99 after a $125 discount. Similarly, the 32GB Developer Edition will retail for discounted $324.99. The 64GB Moto X will also be $125 cheaper than its final price of $499.99, at $374.99.

Customers can avail the discounts only on the Moto Maker edition by entering the promo code "MBXISMOT" during checkout. This means the offer is limited to US customers only.

The discount does not affect the existing deal of a free Motorola Skip along with the purchase of a Moto X smartphone. Skip is a tiny clip that can be worn as an accessory and be used to unlock your Moto X with a single tap. The additional accessory usually sells for $9.99 but is free with the purchase of Moto X. It comes in different color options to match colors of the phone's accent.

Motorola launched the Moto X in August last year. It was well-received for its top-of-the-line specs at the time of the launch and option to customize it with different colors for back cover, accents, front panel and also engraving a personal message. The smartphone features a 4.7-inch AMOLED display with HD resolution, 10-megapixel rear camera and 2MP front shooter. Moto X is powered by a 1.7GHz Dual Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro and backed by 2GB RAM.

The specifications are not the best selling point for Moto X but its stock Android experience with fast updates gets consumers' attention. The smartphone will be powered with Android 4.2.2 out of the box but will prompt new customers to download a software update that will push to Android 4.4 KitKat. Some of the unique features like the active display and touch-less controls can win customers looking for a mid-range phone with great value.
