A 9- year-old girl named Hannah Robinson told McDonald's CEO to stop "tricking kids into eating your food" during the fast-food chain's annual shareholders meeting Thursday.

It is a common belief that adults worry about eating healthy while kids simply can't resist fast food. So, it came as a surprise when the CEO of popular fast food chain, McDonald's, found himself being lectured by a 9-year-old girl about eating healthy. According to a report by Huffington Post, Hannah Robinson told McDonald's CEO Don Thompson to stop tricking kids into eating food from their fast food joints.

Reportedly, Hannah was attending the meeting held at the food chain's headquarters in Oak Brook, Ill., with her mother Kia Robertson. The fourth grader already had her remark prepared and read it aloud to everyone at the meeting.

"It would be nice if you stopped trying to trick kids into wanting to eat your food all the time," said fourth-grader Hannah. "Something that I don't think is fair is when big companies try to trick kids into eating food that isn't good for them by using toys and cartoon characters. If parents haven't taught their kids about healthy eating, then the kids probably believe that junk food is good for them because it might taste good."

Robertson runs "Today I Ate a Rainbow," a Toronto business that encourages children to eat healthy food. The mother of the nine-year-old also addressed the gathering telling Thompson that while it might not strike him as the head of a company advertising its product, as a parent or grandparent, he should be aware that eating junk food is not healthy.

Thompson, after thanking Hannah and her mother for the remark, explained that his children also eat stuff sold by the fast food chain. He said that the company also sells healthy food items like salads, includes apple slices in Happy Meals, and offers fat-free chocolate milk.
