On Wednesday, July 16, news quickly spread that Grammy-winner Adele was releasing her third studio album, titled "25," and then hitting the road for a world tour. The news was first revealed via a tweet by World Music Awards' official account.

The new album would be a follow up to Adele's sophomore title, "21." She released her debut project, "19," in 2008. But before fans start celebrating, the 26-year-old "Rolling in the Deep" singer has yet to confirm the news and, according to Billboard, the rumor has already been shut down by the parent company to Adele's XL Recordings.

Chairman Martin Mills of Beggars Group told Billboard that there is "no truth in this" rumor. Why World Music Awards, an international awards ceremony, would be first to reveal the news, remains unclear. However, it has been confirmed that Adele is definitely working on new music and she did hint at a new album back in May.

On her 26th birthday, the UK singer tweeted, "Bye bye 25... See you again later this year," which caused many fans to speculate that she would be dropping new music very soon. OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder also said that he was working with Adele on a follow-up album but remained tight-lipped on the details.

"I haven't heard anything she's done, but I've heard everything we've done and I'm as proud of it, or prouder of anything we did on the first album, and she is sounding even better than ever," he said.

When asked about a release date, Tedder said he had no idea when fans could expect the album.

"She will deliver the album on her own timetable, at her own pace, and the only person that will ever declare it finished will be her, when she decides it's finished," he said.

Wiz Khlalifa has also said he worked with the songstress on a new track that sounded "really hippie."

"It's a cross between [the sounds of] right now and the '60s and '70s," he told Fuse News in February.

As far as when the single will be released? The rapper told Fuse he wasn't sure but was hoping it would be put on Adele's next album.
