"Harry Potter" actor Dave Legeno was found dead in Death Valley in California.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Legeno, who played werewolf Fenrir Greyback in three "'Harry Potter" films, died of a heat stroke at the age of 50 while hiking. The actor's body was reportedly found by two hikers on Sunday and later transported out of the area via helicopter.

"The Inyo County Sheriff's Dispatch received notification on Sunday [July 6] at approximately 7 A.M. that remains had been discovered in a remote wash below Manly Beacon, west of Zabriskie Point in Death Valley," the Sheriff's Office said in a statement. "The remains have been identified as David Legeno, a 50-year-old United Kingdom man. It appears that Legeno died of heat related issues. There are no signs of foul play."

Police told TMZ that temperatures in the Death Valley can reach more than 120 Fahrenheit degrees. Authorities said that the actor had been dead for three to four days before being found.

Legeno, who is also a mixed martial arts star, made his onscreen acting debut in Guy Ritchie's 2000 film, "Snatch," starring actors Brad Pitt, Jason Statham, and Vinnie Jones. He also played a League of Shadows warrior in "Batman Begins." Legeno was scheduled to begin another acting project before his death.

In 2006, UK Metro asked Legeno about switching from fighting to acting.

"It's something I always wanted to do," Legeno revealed. "I remember I was nine years old and thumbed through the complete works of Shakespeare and found the opening speech from Richard III. I probably didn't understand a great deal of it but I found the words magical and remember sitting there thinking: 'What am I doing reading Shakespeare? I'm only nine' but I was transfixed."

Legeno is survived by a daughter named Wendy, who is reportedly in her 20s, according to the Daily Mail.
