Galaxy Apps still features different categories as in the previous version. The app store is divided into three distinct categories, Best Picks, Top and For Galaxy. Best Picks gives a list of popular and new apps and shows "Today's Deal"  on apps. The "For Galaxy" category is further divided into four groups, Galaxy Gifts, Galaxy Essentials, Apps for Professionals and Galaxy Specials. As the names suggest, Essentials and Professionals are a list of apps based on users' need and Galaxy Specials are created by using Samsung's software development kits, CNET reports.

Galaxy Apps remained untouched for almost two years. The update does not change the status of the previously purchased apps.

"We are pleased to announce the launch of new Samsung Galaxy Apps. We have prepared many special value packs you can immediately download with many more to come," Samsung said in an announcement in its app store on Thursday. "We hope you enjoy the new features of Samsung Galaxy Apps and thank you for your continued support of our store.

The update was first pushed out to the web version of the app store on July 1 and the mobile users are receiving the update starting Thursday, 9to5Googlereports.
