The latest rumors surrounding the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) franchise claim the game's sixth installment is coming out in the summer of 2017.

A video posted on YouTube claiming GTA 6 would likely be released during E3 2014, which was held last month, may have played a role in speculations, according to Ecumenical News. The rumors also state that the game will be called "Return to Vice City."

Rockstar Games has not confirmed it would be releasing a sixth game in the franchise.

GTA 6 did not debut at E3, but Rockstar did announce instead GTA V's new compatibility with the PS4, Xbox One and PC, The Inquisitr reported. The video game developer is also still promoting the franchise's fifth installment in its release of new DLC for GTA Online.

It has been indicated that Rockstar will most likely make announcements about GTA 6 after it has released and established the next generation GTA V, and the company will most likely signal the arrival of the game in spring of next year, possibly at E3 2015.

GTA Online was made available by Rockstar as an Independence Day Special for the Fourth of July holiday, the Epoch Times reported.

"Demonstrate your exceptionalism and own the road from sea to shining sea with two new star spangled rides, the Sovereign motorcycle and the super-sized Liberator monster truck," the company said in a release. "And protect your rights the same way our Founding Fathers did with the latest addition to Ammu-Nation's antiques collection, the high-powered Musket ... or channel your inner Jack Howitzer with the spectacular Firework Rocket Launcher."
