Anthony Cumia, one half of the two-host radio show "Opie and Anthony," unleashed a Twitter war when he sent several racist Tweets after he was allegedly attacked by a black woman in Manhattan on Wednesday, the New York Daily News reported.

Cumia, 53, was reportedly in Times Square trying to take a picture when a black woman became upset because she was captured in one of his photos and punched him in the face. Cumia said the woman punched him at least five times.

"She's lucky I was a white legal gun owner or she'd be dead," tweeted Cumia, who hosts his show with Greg (Opie) Hughes. "Then 5 blacks started giving me s--t!"

Several asked the radio host if he was going to have the woman arrested for the assault.

"No!" Cumia tweeted. "It doesn't work! White guy/Black 'girl'- We're doomed!"

However, Cumia did suggest he hopes the woman gets shot while calling her a "savage" and "animal," according to the Daily News.

Twitter was ablaze with messages backing the radio host, saying Cumia is the real victim in the situation. Others insulted him for his lack of sensitivity.

"You're a Howard stern wanna-be. And a bad one at that. Nothing more than a racist trying to boost your ratings. Pathetic," @DirkZ1 tweeted Thursday.

"You are literally the dumbest person I've ever come across," @nmandarano tweeted.

But Cumia defended himself, saying the woman was the one who was being racist because she called him a "white motherf----r" before allegedly attacking him.

"I was assaulted and used 'mean' words on Twitter and I'm the bad guy in all this ?? Lol!" tweeted Cumia, who has been on the air for two decades.

"It's really open season on white people in this day and age," the DJ continued. "No resource. Fight back and you're a racist. The predators know this. Good luck."

Cumia did not respond to the newspaper's request for comment.  The shock jock and his co-host Opie are known for making outrageous comments on the air and pulling pranks.
