Even before the 2015 Ford Mustang hits the dealerships later this year, Steve Saleen has offered a sneak peek at the pony car's new design.

Steve Saleen has made himself a brand name by modifying Ford Mustangs and other racing muscle cars such as the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger. Continuing his momentum into the next-generation of Ford Mustangs, the Southern California-based customizer announced his plans for the next 2015 Saleen S302 Mustang on the official Twitter account, Wednesday. With the Twitter snap, Saleen is showing a glimpse of what's under works at the workshop.

Ford unveiled the 2015 Ford Mustang in December last year with its feature presentation in Aaron Paul's "Need For Speed" movie, which was based on the popular game from Electronics Arts. The newest of Ford's pony cars, which is already equipped with a new standard burnout-control feature called theelectronic line-rock , does not hit dealerships until this fall, but that hasn't stopped Saleen Automotive to begin tinkering the 2015 Ford Mustang.

The car modifier released only one picture of the Saleen S302 2015 Ford Mustang, showing the front end design. The new design is entirely different from the original and features a more aggressive face. The looks suggest Saleen has done away with the separator for the grille and the headlights and widened the upper and lower grille with black-matte finish. On the hood, Saleen has retained the raised center section but the S302 features much sharper lines on the center and sides. The running pony has been replaced with the Saleen name on the grille.

The rest of the design is left to guesswork as of now. Motor Trend, which has some pretty educated guesses, reveals few tidbits of the upcoming S302 Mustang.

"We can guess based on the name that the car will be powered by the Mustang GT's 5.0-liter V-8, which receives upgrades for 2015, though official output numbers have yet to be announced," the report reads. "Whatever the stock 2015 Mustang GT makes, expect the Saleen 302 to make more. The 5.0-liter V-8 in Saleen's limited-production George Follmer Edition Mustang was tuned to 470 hp, up 50 hp from the outgoing GT model."

More details on the customized 2015 Ford Mustang are likely to arrive soon, with deliveries to begin sometime later this year, Car and Driver reports.
