Former MLB player Jose Canseco has been accused of rape and used Twitter to let the world know.  In a series of tweets, which have since been deleted, Canseco talked on Wednesday about the allegation, the Huffington Post reports.

"Breaking news this is a first folks las vegas police was just at my house I have been charged with rape by a (censored) from las vegas," Canseco tweeted.  "All media welcome to this drama filled event.  Did I rape (censored) or is she lieing.  Stay tuned to another day in the life of jose canseco."

He added: "(Censored) told the police that I druged her and then raped her.  Hmmmmm.  lets find out what really happened."

The Associated Press also reported on Wednesday the sexual assault allegation and confirmed that Las Vegas police haven't made an arrest or filed charges.

Canseco wasn't through with Twitter.  On Thursday, he launched into a tirade about wanting him and his accuser to take a polygraph test.

Canseco, 48, plays in the Independent United League for the Fort Worth Cats.  He began his Major League career in 1985 with the Oakland Athletics and played for seven other teams before his retirement in 2001.

He gained notoriety in 2005 when he wrote "Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big," a tell-all book that claimed the majority of baseball players used steroids.
