Google brings a slew of improvements and new apps to its Glass eyewear ahead of the much-awaited I/O conference.

Google, the largest internet search provider, is ready to reveal some improvements to its Glass eyewear just ahead of the I/O Conference, Wednesday. In an official Google+ post, the company said the new devices will be shipped with 2GB RAM space with a plethora of new apps and Google Now cards.

Google's upgraded hardware in the Glass is to handle more applications simultaneously without lagging. Google Glass with twice the RAM space than the previous edition will begin shipping in the U.S. and U.K., the newly added market for the Explorer Edition program. What's unclear is whether Google will swap the older model with the newer version of the Glass for free. Several comments on the  G+ post have been left unanswered, but the web giant might be keeping the big surprise for its annual developers' conference.

In addition to the upgraded specs, Google also added an easier way to frame the shots using viewfinder.

"When you say "ok glass, show the viewfinder" you'll see white L's in the four corners of your Glass screen. You can then either take a photo by saying "ok glass, take a picture," with a wink, or by pushing the camera button," Google said in its post.

The web search titan has also added two new Google Now cards for the Glass software to help owners find their parked car and get notified of any new packages that are arriving.

In a separate Google+ post, Tuesday, Google also announced 12 new apps for its Glassware. The list includes Runtastic, 94Fifty Basketball, The Guardian, Duolingo, GuidiGO, Allthecooks, Zombies, Run!, Star Chart, Shazam, Goal.com, Livestream and musiXmatch. Expect to see a demonstration of some of the apps at the I/O tomorrow.

Google has already made some other changes to the Glass over the past year, which include an improved battery by over 20 percent and 10 percent faster performance.
