Solange Knowles turned 28-years-old today (June 24) but reportedly got an unexpected birthday surprise last night. According to Media Take Out, her boyfriend of five years, Alan Ferguson, popped the question.

The site didn't release any details about the rumored engagement and so far the "Losing You" singer hasn't confirmed the news, so it's probably best to take this with a grain of salt. During an interview with Harper's Bazaar earlier this year, Knowles opened up about her video director boyfriend.

"Luckily, I dated all of the losers ages ago, my love life has been stable for a while," she said.

Beyoncé's little sister also talked about her divorce from her high school sweetheart and son's father, Daniel Smith. Smith and Knowles got married when they were 17 and divorced only four years later. Together they have a son named Daniel Julez.

Knowles told Harper's Bazaar that being married and divorced at such a young age made her grow up fast and often times she feels older than her peers.

"In a lot of ways, emotionally and mentally, I feel far older than 27," Knowles said. "Just going through a marriage and a divorce - which I essentially did by 21 - will give you an insane amount of perspective on life."

"Everyone talks about how, in your 30s, all of these growing pains transition into wisdom and you feel more self-assured and confident, but I think I had a bit of a jump-start on that at 27," she added. "For the first time in my life, I'm basing every decision around the idea of whether I want to do it or think it will be inspiring. And that's paid off for me."

She recently made headlines for getting into an elevator fight with Beyoncé's husband Jay Z at a Met Gala after party at the Standard Hotel in New York City. On May 12, a video was published by TMZ where Knowles was seen physically attacking the "Magna Carta" rapper. It was rumored that the fight was started because designer Rachel Roy was flirting with Jay at the party.

A few days after the video was leaked, the family released a joint statement.

"Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family."
