"Kitchen Nightmares" has come to an end, after a decade of transforming low-graded restaurants into high-end eateries.

Gordon Ramsay announced on his official website on Monday that "Kitchen Nightmares" is set to end after a seven season run on Fox and 10 years on the U.K.'s Channel Four. The news also comes after Ramsay reportedly filmed four new episodes for the U.K. version of the reality series.

"As filming comes to a close on the latest series of 'Kitchen Nightmares,' I've decided to stop making the show," the 47-year-old chef announced on his website. "I've had a phenomenal 10 years making 123 episodes on 12 seasons shot across 2 continents, watched by tens of millions of people and sold to over 150 countries. It's been a blast but it's time to call it a day."

He added: "I'd like to thank you all for being so supportive. I'm glad I've been able to entertain and hopefully help a few people along the way. It's sad to say goodbye to Kitchen Nightmares but I'll be continuing with my other shows. It's been memorable! Thank you for watching."

Ramsay, who is famous for yelling obscenities at cooks on his various television shows, began "Kitchen Nightmares" in 2004 in the U.K. before bringing it the United States in 2007. The seventh season of "Kitchen Nightmares" wrapped up in May and averaged a total of 2.4 million viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ramsay also tweeted the news on Monday, writing, "I'm breaking my own news today! I've decided it's time to bring Kitchen Nightmares to a close. Been 10 great years."

The Scottish chef is known for his outrageous attitude, foul mouth and strong opinions - all of which often leave restaurant owners in tears. But the eventual outcome of reviving failing businesses always produced positive, emotional responses.

FOX has not commented on Ramsay's announcement, but the partnership between the two parties is far from over. Ramsay still has four television shows on FOX, including "Hell's Kitchen," "Master Chef," "Master Chef Junior," and "Hotel Hell," which premieres on July 21.
