Aaron Hernandez reportedly wants to be transferred to another jail out of fear for his safety in Bristol County jail.  Hernandez feels he's being exploited at the Bristol County jail and fears retribution from correction officers after being accused of threatening a staff member, TMZ reports.

Hernandez wants to be moved to a jail closer to Boston, seemingly believing his life is in danger at the Bristol County jail, where he's currently being held without bail while awaiting trial for the murder of Odin Lloyd.

Per TMZ:

"(Hernandez) just filed documents with the court asking to transfer to a jail located closer to Boston ... and his explanation for the request is very interesting.  In the docs, Hernandez notes that he's being accused of threatening to kill a corrections officer - an allegation he denies - but says he now fears possible retribution from jail staff at Bristol County."

TMZ then appeared to quote the document, which said: "Surely, there is now reason to be seriously concerned about Hernandez's personal safety while housed at the Bristol County HOC (House of Corrections) and to question the ability of that facility's staff to treat Hernandez fairly and professionally while he is subject to their total control."

A grand jury indicted Hernandez last month on charges of assault and battery, and making a threat.  He plead not guilty at his arraignment.

Hernandez also alleges in the documents, according to TMZ, Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson is in love with the media and out to exploit Hernandez for his own gains.

Hodgson spoke with TMZ and denied Hernandez's allegation, stating: "I have a staff that is very professional.  They understand they're dealing with a high-profile person and go the extra mile to ensure his safety, and other inmates' safety."
