The fans have spoken and they want Marquel Martin to be the next "Bachelor." Current "Bachelorette" Andi Dorfman gave Martin his walking papers on the June 16 episode but apparently fans want to see more of him and started the "#MarquelForBachelor" campaign on Twitter. If the 27-year-old sponsorship salesman is cast as the Season 19 "Bachelor," this would be the first time in the show's history that ABC picked an African American lead.

Following Martin's exit on the show, Season 17 Bachelor Sean Lowe kicked things off and tweeted, "Too soon to start the Marquel for Bachelor campaign? Think about it @ABCNetwork."

Immediately fans jumped on board, responding, "I would give everything for this," @tarynor posted.

"Never too soon to want Marquel for the next #Bachelor," @Lindal26 tweeted.

Martin is currently in Mexico filming the spinoff show, "Bachelor in Paradise." Wetpaint caught up with a show insider who said that there is a strong possibility that Martin would be interested in the gig, if it was offered to him.

"If he was up for 'Paradise,' he's definitely up for 'The Bachelor.' It didn't take him too much convincing to head back to another round of filming, and he handles everything they throw at him with a smile," the source told Wetpaint. "They usually announce the next Bachelor on the "Bachelorette" finale, but with another show in the tunes, they're holding off until the 'Paradise' finale to say anything."

However, the source said Martin as the next Bachelor has never actually been publicly discussed. This is ironic since ABC was slammed last year for never featuring an African American as the Bachelor or Bachelorette.

"Nobody ever talked about it on Andi's season, at least not publicly," the source said. "But if they ever wanted to have a black Bachelor, Marquel pretty much served it up for them with his gentlemanly, funny time on TV."

TV blogger Reality Steve recently revealed who is supposedly in talks of becoming the Season 19 Bachelor.

Do you think Marquel Martin should be the next "Bachelor"?
