The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly want to select Andrew Wiggins in the 2014 NBA draft and are considering trading up to make sure it happens.  The Philadelphia Inquirer became the second news outlet in as many weeks to report the former Kansas star is at the top of Philadelphia's draft board.

Wiggins spent several days with members of the 76ers organization, including center Nerlen Noels and general manager Sam Hinkie, according to The Inquirer.  He's scheduled to work out on Tuesday for the Sixers, and unless something goes terribly wrong, he appears to be the Sixers' top choice in the upcoming draft.

"It's no secret that the Sixers want to select Wiggins in the draft on June 26.  The only problem is he could be off the board when they make a selection," Keith Pompey of The Inquirer wrote on Tuesday.  "The Sixers have the third and 10th overall picks in addition to five second-round selections.  Wiggins is expected to go first or second but could fall to the Sixers at No. 3.

"As a result, the franchise needs to move up just to secure drafting him.  The Cavaliers hold the top spot in the draft and the (Milwaukee) Bucks are second.  Sources have confirmed a report that the Sixers have inquired about trading for the Cavs' first pick."

ESPN's Chad Ford reported last week the Sixers had reached out to the Cavaliers about swapping picks.  Part of the trade package, according to Ford, would include forward Thaddeus Young.

"The Sixers actually have engaged the Cavs about moving to No. 1," Ford wrote on Tuesday.  "They aren't willing to give up both the Nos. 3 and 10 picks.  But a combination of No. 3 and Thaddeus Young is a possibility.

"And it's a great scenario for Wiggins, as well.  Of the three top teams, his camp prefers the Sixers as the best possible fit.  This could be a win-win for both."

Cleveland acknowledged after the draft lottery they were open to trading their No. 1 pick if the right offer came along.

The NBA draft is on Thursday, June 26.
