Jennifer Lopez will perform at the World Cup opening ceremony in Brazil after all.

People Magazine reported that the "Jenny From the Block" singer will perform during Thursday's opening ceremony at the World Cup in Sao Paulo, despite previous reports stating that Lopez dropped out of the scheduled performance due to "production issues."

"Jennifer has always wanted to participate in the World Cup opening ceremonies," a representative for the singer said. "We have been trying to work out scheduling and logistics. Any statements to the contrary were premature. Jennifer would not want to disappoint her fans or fans of futbol. She will be there."

The 44-year-old "American Idol" will join rapper Pitbull and Claudia Leitte to sing the official World Cup song, "We Are One" - accompanied by Brazilian drumming collective Olodum.

"FIFA and the Local Organizing Committee are delighted to announce that we will have the full line-up of stars," FIFA said in a statement. "The performance by Pitbull, Claudia Leitte, Jennifer Lopez and Olodum will be the climax of the ceremony."

Artistic director Daphne Cornez told People that Lopez's song "is a tribute to Brazil and its treasures: nature, people, football."

In a statement released by FIFA rapper Pitbull said. "To be performing 'We Are One' to the world, especially in such a beautiful country like Brazil, is going to be a lot of fun. But more than this, it is going to show the world that music is the universal language."

More than 60,000 people are expected to watch Brazil play against Croatia in Sao Paulo during the opening game on Thursday.
