Ringly is a new wearable accessory with fashionable looks and advanced technical capabilities such as alerting wearers of any phone notifications.

A New York-based startup company is adding a fashion statement to the ever growing wearable industry as it presents Ringly, a new stylish smart ring that alerts wearers of calls, texts, emails and other notifications on a paired smartphone. Ringly is the best companion for women who want to keep their phones in the handbags and still be able to stay alert of any notification.

Ringly is plated with 18 karat gold with a large gem that comes in four different shades, milky white, forest green, maroon and black. As for the technical bit, it features a tiny light and wireless technology built inside to connect to a smartphone. But anyone looking at Ringly will least suspect it as a wearable tech gadget.

The tiny light on the side of the ring lights up, which can be tuned with five different colors and vibrates in different patterns chosen by the wearer. The smart ring will not only support basic phone calls, messages and emails, but also notifications from popular apps like Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, Tumblr, Vine, LinkedIn, Poshmark, Tinder, and Uber. The ring also acts as a reminder in case the paired smartphone gets out of range, so losing phones will become a thing of past.

Ringly CEO Christina Mercando, who was once part of eBay's secret team behind the redesigned e-commerce home page, hopes to add more features like gesture support in the future, according to CNET.

The company has launched a promotional pre-sale for Ringly, which gives a discount of $50 on the MSRP of $195 and additional 10 percent off for referring friends. Ten referrals can fetch you a free ring.

Ringly can be pre-ordered from the company's official website for $145 and the company will start shipping the device starting this fall if the company reaches its goal amount of $60,000. Also, the first 1,000 rings will include a real diamond on the side, where the notification light illuminates.

Ringly, with its fashionable looks, competes with Smarty Ring, Ring and Fin. The Smarty Ring is a Bluetooth-enabled ring that controls wearer's phone camera and music and display notifications and time as well. Ring is also another wearable that responds to gestures to send texts and alerts with a wag of a finger. Similarly, Fin recognizes thumb gestures to send messages to phone and computer. The new smart rings are yet to hit the  stores, but it is likely that Ringly will make it before others.
