Boston Celtics player Terrence Williams was arrested on Sunday for allegedly threatening the mother of his child while holding a handgun. No one was injured, and he denied ever pointing the firearm.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. Pacific time in a downtown Kent, Wash., parking lot, according to the Seattle Times (via USA Today).  Williams and the woman met to exchange their 10-year-old son as part of a scheduled visitation agreement. The two began to argue, and Williams allegedly showed her a handgun and made threats.

Police later located Williams on Monday and arrested him without incident. Bail was set for $25,000. Williams, 25, denied to police that he pointed the gun and said he showed the firearm only because he felt threatened by the woman and her boyfriend, according to the Huffington Post. Another hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.

Authorities are investigating the incident as a domestic violence case.

The New Jersey Nets selected Williams, 25, as the 11th overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft.  He has since played for the Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings, and a China Basketball Association team before joining the Celtics in 2013.

The swingman has averaged 7.1 points per game in his three-year career.
