AT&T Inc. announced on Wednesday that it will begin taking pre-orders for the Asus PadFone X on June 6.

The device, along with the PadFone Station, is priced at $199 with a two-year contract, according to PC Magazine. It is also worth $22.92 per month for 18 months, and $29.80 per month for 12 months.

The telecommunications company did not provide details on when the PadFone X would be available in stores.

Because the PadFone X works as a smartphone as well as a tablet, the user will be able to switch between a standard handset and slate whenever they want to, CNET reported.

The device includes a Snapdragon 800 processer, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage, Android Police reported.

It also has built-in PMA wireless charging.

The PadFone X features a 5-inch full HD screen, which expands to 9 inches when docked with the PadFone Station, PC Magazine reported.

AT&T's new device also runs Android 4.4 KitKat. When docked, apps running on the device are resized to fit the bigger display.

Each unit runs on a separate battery, with 2,300mAh running in the phone and 4,990mAh running in the docking station. When the smartphone part of the product is plugging in, it will be charged by the station, PC Magazine reported.

The PadFone X comes with different accessories, such as the Folio Bundle protective covers, which cover the device both when it is docked and when it isn't. The covers come in white and blue. The device can also come with the PadFone X Mobile Dock, a Bluetooth keyboard and touchpad that allows customers to use the device as a notebook.

After the PadFone debuted at the 2011 Computex game show in Taiwan as a concept device, a second-generation version was announced in 2012, PC Magazine reported.

The two-pack tablet cover and Wireless Charging Folio, along with the Duracell Wireless Charging Mat, will be available for $80 from now to July 24th.
