Leaked documents from German wireless carrier Deutsche Telekom has revealed a specific date for the next Apple iPhone release, September 19.

Apple, the second largest smartphone maker, is secretly working on the next iteration of its iPhone lineup, the iPhone 6, but several leaked pictures and rumors have outlined the expectations from the upcoming smartphone. While several media reports have pointed towards a September release for the handset, which is usually when Apple launches new iPhone devices, a new leaked internal document from German wireless carrier Deutsche Telekom has pinned down the release date to September 19, Apple Insider reports via German publication ApfelPage.

Apple has traditionally launched new iPhone models in September and the latest documents point toward a specific date that falls on a Friday. The last two iPhones, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C  and iPhone 5 were launched on Friday Sept. 20, 2013 and Sept. 21, 2012, respectively.

Apple has been good with weekend sales, and it is sensible to launch new devices just when the weekend starts to attract more customers. But there has been no official confirmation from Apple. However, September 19, which is sensibly and accurately listed by DT, fits right in with Apple's schedule to launch the iPhone 6.

The iPhone 6 has been in the news for quite a while and is expected to come in two screen sizes, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models. But for Apple fanboys, a big event is just ahead, the Worldwide Developer Conference 2014 in San Francisco from June 2 to 6, where the Cupertino tech giant is expected to make several announcements, including iOS8 featuring new healthbook and fitness apps and a new smart home system that turns an iPhone into a remote control for lighting systems, security systems, music, temperture, kitchen appliances and more.
