Ubisoft has launched a companion app for their latest hacker-inspired title, "Watch Dogs."

GameSpot reports the ctOS app can by logging in to your Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, or Uplay account.  You can look up your friends online and invite them to join in on the app gameplay.

The app is available for iPhone 4 and later models, iPad 2 and later models, Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy S4,

Kindle Fire HDX 7 (3rd Gen), Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 (3rd Gen) and more.  Click here for the full list of devices the app supports.

"ctOS Mobile has two primary ways to play with your friends on console and PC: Race and Free Ride," according to Ubisoft.  "Both modes are adversarial, pitting the console/PC player against the mobile player. On the console/PC, the player must race from checkpoint to checkpoint. Every time a checkpoint is passed, more time is added back to the clock. The goal is to reach the final checkpoint before time runs out.

"On the mobile app, the player is doing everything in his power to thwart his adversary. How so? By hacking into the city via a top-down map, triggering blockers, setting off explosions and causing all kinds of mayhem. Using ctOS Mobile, the player can also attack from above via a helicopter (complete with a sniper); and he can send the local police into hot pursuit."

The ctOS Mobile is available for free download.  The app does not require any in app purchases and gamer also don't need to purchase the "Watch Dogs" title to play the game.  The app will work on 3G, 4G and wireless networks.  "Watch Dogs" is available in stores now.  Check out the trailer for Ubisoft's title in the video below.
