The miniature version of the HTC flagship smartphone, the HTC One Mini 2, will be available to the UK buyers starting June 30.

HTC, one of the renowned smartphone makers, announced the trimmed down version of its flagship smartphone earlier this month but kept the availability details at the minimum. The specific date for the release of the HTC One Mini 2 was missing during the launch, but the company promised to bring the smartphone to Europe, Middle East, Africa and North Asia in June. Staying true to its word, the mini version of the HTC One M8 is listed on the pre-order page of online retailer Amazon UK with a release date of June 30.

Though the smartphone has got its release date, it might be a tad difficult to tip buyers in its favor. The specifications are praise-worthy but the price factor is the worrisome bit. The HTC One Mini 2 carries a price tag of £498.85 (US$840), which is much higher than expected. Fret not, preliminary listings often show an inflated price, which tend to go down when the device hits availability.

HTC has also listed the successor of One Mini on its official UK online store. The Taiwanese tech giant is taking pre-orders for the device directly from its website through major carriers and retailers including Phones4U, Carphone Warehouse, EE, O2 and Three. Carphone Warehouse has already listed the device as available through carriers including Vodafone for starting £ 21 ($35) for 24 months.

Phones4U has listed the device and expects to start deliveries June 13, while EE, Three and O2 have listed it as coming soon.

HTC One Mini 2 is well-received by the tech analysts and critics for its impressive features. It sports a 4.5-inch HD screen, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 16GB storage and a notable 13-megapixel rear facing camera and 5MP shooter in the front.
