Former "Sonny with a Chance" star Tiffany Thornton has been accused of abducting her own children, according to E! News.

Chris Carney, Thornton's husband, recently filed a report with the LAPD claiming that his wife kidnapped their two young sons, 20-month-old Kenneth and 3-month-old Bentley. Carney is reportedly convinced that Thornton moved the children out of California to Texas without his consent.

Carney added that his wife received help from his mother, Ruth Carney, who is the mayor of Hot Springs, Ark. Carney told TMZ that his wife may be suffering from postnatal depression and thinks that religion played a role in her decision - Thornton is known as a dedicated Christian.

"She took our car without my permission, drove my babies from Los Angeles with my mother to Hot Springs," Carney explained to Yahoo Insider. "She said that she's not coming back.

The 28-year-old singer and actress married Carney, a musician, in November 2011, after a two-year engagement. According to People Magazine, Thornton's Disney co-star Demi Lovato was also one of her bridesmaids.

"Mr. Carney's claims are false and are being dealt with in the proper forum," the actress' attorney told E! News. "The fact that Mr. Carney has chosen to contact the media to publicize these claims raises serious concerns for Ms. Thornton, who does not believe that Mr. Carney's desire for media attention is in the best interest of the parties' two young children."

Thornton is reportedly now in Texas at her family's home. The actress recently posted a picture of Bennett in his car seat and a selfie with the caption, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. James 1:2-3."

According to TMZ, Carney's mother said her son and Thornton are trying to work on their relationship. Thornton will reportedly return to her husband if he quits drinking. Carney has denied he has a problem with alcohol.
