After Google's one-day Glass sale in April became a huge success, the tech company has decided to sell its wearable device again, but this time, with a target audience in mind - wealthy golfers.

Google held a special single-day sales event for Glass last month, selling Glass at a retail price of $1,500 each. Despite the hefty tag, buyers bought out the entire stock of off-white models, proving that many wanted to be part of the Explorer program.

Despite the success, Google has not announced its plans to officially launch the wearable device in the global market. It did not also publicize that it had plans to sell Glass to golf tournament participants in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

Business Insider found the sales event after being informed by an unidentified reader. According to salespeople at the Google booth, this was the first public sale of Glass. Aside from receiving the Glass, golfers who purchased the wearable device at The Player's Championship were given a mini camera accessory to clamp on their golf clubs for a better view of live-action footage.

This event was just one of Google's pushes to further develop the Explorer program.

"As we've said for many months, we're always testing new ways to expand the Explorer Program," said a Google spokesperson to Business Insider.

Google is reportedly targeting specific buyers one at a time, after the company raked in huge revenue during open sales.

Google wrote in a blog post: "A few weeks ago, we opened up our site for a single day. The response was overwhelming - we almost ran out of inventory and had to close things down early. We've since built our inventory back up and plan to continue to accelerate new ways to expand the program in the weeks and months ahead."
