Lenovo unveiled two new Chromebooks, N20 and N20p, with similar features but the higher end model sports touch display and a flex screen.

Lenovo, one of the largest PC making companies, announced two new additions to its Chromebook lineup  targeting budget conscious customers in the market. After launching Chrome OS-based laptops for education sector earlier this year, the Chinese PC maker is extending its reach to the young audience. Like most of its Windows-based flex laptops, Lenovo has adopted the style into its new Chromebook model, N20p that can bend over backwards to form a stand or a tent. Unlike the Yoga 11e Chromebook, the N20p does not bend flat to take a tablet form.

The Lenovo N20p also features a full-touch display for easy use. Lenovo's lower-end model, which saves consumers $50, is the N20. Both laptops share more than a few similarities in terms of technical specifications. The Lenovo N20 and N20p feature same screen size, 11.6-inches, and come with a standard resolution of 1366 x 768 and are powered by Intel Celeron chip, GigaOm reports. The storage on both models is limited to 16GB and backed by 4GB RAM, but considering all operations are performed on Google's cloud services, the minimal storage should suffice for most users.

Other specs include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 2 USB ports, SD/ MMC card reader, 1-megapixel webcam for video calling and 100 GB of Google Drive capacity. The company said the battery should last up to 8 hours in operation.

Basically, Lenovo N20 and N20p are almost similar but the N20p offers 10 touch points and 300-degrees fold-back screen for an extra $50. Since the PC maker is targeting the education sector for its new range, price factor plays an important role. The Lenovo N20 is priced at $279 and the N20p will sell for $329 when available in July and August, respectively. The price of the latest higher model is still cheaper than the base Yoga Chromebook ThinkPad 11e, which sells for $349. The price-point can be a selling factor for the PC maker, which recently acquired Motorola from Google.

The N20 will hit the markets before the N20p in July, while the other model will start sales in August, according to Mashable.
