Google is rolling out a major update to its Search app that adds offline support to Now Cards and a new feature that helps users locate parked cars from a busy lot.

Google, the biggest internet search company, is updating its Android mobile app to bring new offline support so that users can always use the service. The Google Now cards, which brings sports scores, traffic info, event reminders and other important information at the fingertips, is getting offline support to further enhance the usability of the app, according to a Google+ blog post on Friday.

"Next time you're on the subway and want to check on your day's appointments with Google Now, you won't have to worry about lack of cell service," according to a post on the Web giant's Google+ page,. "Starting today ... your Google Now cards stay loaded, even when you lose service in the subway... or your favorite underground bar!"

The importance of the new offline function is best utilized with a new offline feature. Lost the location of the car as it is parked among hundreds and thousands of other vehicles at a concert or in a mall? Google has got you covered with its Google Now cards. Users of the app will see an indication of the approximate location of the car, it also stores the previous locations but doesn't share with anyone else. The web giant updated its support page on how to use the new offline feature.

The app uses device's sensors to get parking location cards if a user gets off a public transport or a friend's car. Users can also turn off the parking location cards by selecting No on receiving future reminders.

The new features are available on the updated Google Search app on Google Play Store. If there are no updates available, users can sideload the features by downloading an APK from Android Police that first spotted the change.
